Gregg’s involvement with education began while sitting around the dinner table talking to his now retired father about teaching. His double major in History and Social Studies helped him get his first job at Mayo High School in 1972. Shortly after that, in 1975 he became a building representative for the Rochester Education Association and eventually served on the Executive Board for REA. During that time he received a Master’s Degree in Counseling and sat for the Psychology Board exam to become a Licensed Psychologist. In 1980 he moved to the Technical School and when that broke away from the school district he was elected faculty president of the Technical College in Rochester. He has continued to serve as the president (co-president during the 3 year merger transition) of the faculty which now is now a comprehensive college. Gregg served on the first Executive Committee for the Technical College system as a Member at Large. During the merger of the Technical and Liberal Arts college Gregg served on the committee to write the merged constitution and by-laws. He served as a Member at Large during the merging years and of the neophyte MSCF.

Gregg published the Board Highlights after each Board meeting. He currently serves on the Negotiations Team, Legislative and Credentialing Committees and also is MSCF’s representative on the Minnesota Education Board of Directors. When not doing union work he helps (endorsed) local, state and federal candidates get elected. Gregg enjoys working with faculty across the state and doing his part in keeping Higher Education strong and secure for our faculty and our students.
